The prophets an example

Take my brethren the prophets, who have spoken in the name of the Lord, for an example of suffering affliction and of patience. James 5 v 10

The Lord Jesus an example of suffering

And being in agony he prayed more earnestly: and his sweat was as it were great drops of blood falling down to the ground. Luke 22 v 44

Because Christ suffered for us leaving an example, that ye should follow his steps. 1 Peter 2 v 21

Who in the days of his flesh, when he had offered up prayers and supplications with strong crying and tears unto him that was able to save him from death, and was heard in that he feared. Though he were a Son, yet learned he obedience by the things that he suffered. And being made perfect, he became the author of eternal salvation to all them that obey him. Hebrews 5 v 8.

The Spirit testified beforehand of the sufferings of Christ and the glory to follow. 1 Peter 1 v 11

Beloved think it not strange concerning the fiery trial which is to try you as though some strange thing happened unto you. But rejoice inasmuch as you are partakers of Christ sufferings, that when his glory shall ye may be glad with exceeding joy. 1 Peter 4 v 12
